UGC NET 2020: The University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) through NTA (National Testing Agency). UGC-NET is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges.
As per the notification eligible candidate can apply online through the official website of UGC NET (ugcnet.nta.nic.in) from 16.03.2020 till 16.04.2020.

UGC NET 2020 Examination Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
Candidates should have passed Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC with at least 55% marks (without rounding off).
The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Transgender category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.
Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree are also eligible to Apply.
Age Limit
Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.
JRF: Not more than 30 years as on 01.06.2020.
Relaxation

- Candidates with research experience: 5 years
- L.L.M. degree holder- 3 years
- Candidates who have served in the armed forces- 5 years
How To Apply: UGC NET 2020
STEP1: Log on to UGC NET official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in
STEP2: Go to the link “Apply Online” and open the same.
STEP3: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down Registration No./Application No.
STEP4: Upload Scanned Images of latest Photograph and Signature
STEP5: Pay Examination
STEP6: Print Confirmation page for record and future reference.
- Log on to NTA website ugcnet.nta.nic.in
- click on the “Apply Online” button under UGC-NET June 2020.
- On the redirected page, click on “Click Here for New Registration”.
- Enter your basic information like Name, Date of Birth, Email ID and Mobile Number to register yourself.
- A provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Note them down. The same will also be sent to you via your registered email ID and phone number.
- Log in with your Provisional Registration Number and Password and edit the particulars, if necessary.
- Enter your Personal, Academic and other details.
- Upload scanned images of Candidate’s Photograph and Candidate’s Signature in JPG/JPEG format
- Make payment of the application fee.
- Click on “Submit”.
- On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form with fee details will be generated.
- Download and print out several copies for future reference.
UGC NET 2020 Examination Pattern
The Examination shall be conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT) only.
The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between papers.
